Life of a hosteler in Kota can be summed up as a bag full of diverse feelings. From being away from home for the first time and facing isolation in the beginning to leaving the city with loads of memories, Life in Kota is something one can never forget.
Finding a good hostel is itself a hectic task and only a few have the luck to get a hostel with good mess(I personally don't think such a hostel exists in Kota), But despite all this shitty food what each and every student remembers and cherishes are all the happy memories of friends sitting in the same room all night, having fun. The deep talks in the common balconies late night sharing their old school stuff and why they came to Kota? was it their own choice or were they here because of their parents' want to see them in an IIT or AIIMS? (Some question only a few had answers to) .Watching movies together on the only smartphone.AND getting 3-5 movies just for mere 10 rupees!! OH, LIFE WAS GREAT.
Every hostel had a variety of students but a particular sect was present in each hostel. That one friend who was on the call with his girlfriend day in and day out and everybody would eavesdrop on their calls and the other religious friend who had more pictures of god than actual course books. Then there would be "The book guy" who would have each and every book from DC Pandey to concise and Irodov but wouldn't have opened the book twice.
Remember the city mall? Who can forget that after all. Remember The streets of Rajeev Gandhi Nagar/Talwandi and the "kadhi kachori" of Kota? The mere thought of them brings back so many memories and makes us nostalgic about the time spent there.
There are uncountable memories and things that I cannot fit in this piece. I hope I was able to put a smile on your face and make you all nostalgic that you might end up calling your friend from Kota.
Hope you're in an IIT/AIIMS.Lol.Nevermind.
Those were the days :')
